Life Under Siege
A Virginia late-term abortion bill would allow abortion during labor.
Though the bill has for the moment been tabled, Gov. Ralph Northam in a radio address assured listeners that if a child survived such an abortion, “the infant would be kept comfortable. [And] the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue [1].” (Emphasis added.)
This is nothing less than infanticide.
Approximately one in three pregnancies in New York City already ends in abortion [2A].
New York’s Reproductive Health Act now views abortion as a woman’s “fundamental right”, allowed during the third trimester in the absence of fetal viability or to protect the life and health of the mother [2B].
But the term “health” can be broadly interpreted to include both the emotional and psychological health of the mother. There are no objective medical criteria established. And any licensed health care practitioner (presumably including a physician’s assistant) can make the determination.
Women’s rights are, in other words, at odds with the rights of the children they bear. The law, in fact, goes further.

New York’s decriminalization of abortion means that domestic violence offenders who cause their partners to lose a child can no longer be prosecuted as severely [4].
Across the globe, only a handful of nations – Communist China and North Korea among them – view life this way. Most European countries place restrictions on abortion beginning around the 12th week of pregnancy.
Deuteronomy speaks of cannibalism as the result of famine imposed by an external enemy. We are undoubtedly consuming our young. But our famine is spiritual, our enemy internal.
And life, itself, is under siege.

How can a government or any person not see that killing an infant moments prior to labor is murder?
What is the difference between that and letting the child be born and then killing him. Plenty of heartless people in this world.

The Bible says that Satan blinds people to keep them from understanding the gospel. Obviously his blinding applies to other areas as well.

Anna, I awoke at 4:30AM with my mind and heart reeling in pain over the door being opened to forth trimester abortions, a.,k.a. infanticide and murder for the sake of convenience. Since Roe vs. Wade the door has been opened to all sorts of self-justifiable murder in our society. It will not be long until it will be commonplace for the elderly (counted as useless eaters) will be coerced into “assisted suicide” so they will no longer be a “burden on society.” Here locally parents set their houses on fire and make no effort to save their children. Women drive their cars into lakes and make no effort to save their babies strapped in the back seat. “Late term abortion” knows no limits. Harod did this very same thing in an effort to kill the Christ Child.
How long, oh Lord, will you withhold your wrath and not put an end to this evil?

It is very disturbing that through the years abortionist have fought to remove any restrictions..
Vermont has no term limits or restrictions, and as you say abortion is legal up until birth..
It is only nine months to give life, why not look at adoption?
It is a spirit of selfishness and rebellion that takes life for granted..
As I understand, less than 1% of abortions are for pregnancies that resulted from rape or incest. True, there are some women who are destitute or abandoned. But that does not account for the large number of abortions. Birth control is readily available to both men and women these days. Of course, in my view, the Christians who say they believe in life should be standing in line to adopt unwanted children of whatever age.

Anna, when I first heard about this, I thought I was living in the Twilight Zone. I just can’t imagine that otherwise intelligent people could be so dumb and cold-hearted! This is the stuff of Josef Mengele. So one woman rejoices when her baby is born, another is traumatized when the baby emerges. Are we now judging the value of the baby’s life on the emotional state of the mother at the time of birth?
Tragically, the life of a child seems to have no value apart from that. God help us all.
