Microchips, Monitoring, and the Mark of the Beast

RFID implant, Author James Wisniewski (CC BY-SA 4.0 International)
Over the past few years, microchips equipped with radio frequency identification (RFID) have become commonplace in animal shelters. Implanted under an animal’s skin, RFID chips are a safe and reliable means of identifying and retrieving lost pets [1].
Now, a small number of companies have begun requiring that their employees implant microchips [2].
Designed to enable employees to gain access to secure areas and locked buildings, use copy machines, log into computers, and make purchases in the company break room, these chips are said to improve workplace efficiency. Medical information can, also, be encoded.
Microchips (about the size of a grain of rice) are not large enough to contain current GPS hardware. The devices do not, therefore, have tracking capabilities…at least not presently.
There are problems associated with these microchips. Anyone with an RFID reader should be able to decipher the chips, and misuse the information for their own ends. Hackers are already able to clone building access badges which rely on RFID technology.
Perhaps most disturbing, a company could use the microchips to spy on its employees. There is, also, the possibility of a cancer link [3].
Mark of the Beast
“Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name” (Rev. 13: 16-17).
The Book of Revelation predicts that a world leader will arise who requires that people accept a mark on their foreheads or hands to conduct commerce. This technology comes uncomfortably close.
That body hackers having been implanting such microchips on a “do it yourself” basis to improve themselves cybernetically is not encouraging [4].
The states which prohibit forced microchipping include Arkansas, California, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wisconsin [5].

It’s scary, isn’t it? I keep reminding myself that none of this is taking God by surprise. And He is with us always, even to the end of the age.
I can hardly believe what I see happening in the world, Linda.
I agree, Anna, same here!
Immediately after I read your reply to my comment, I clicked on another blog that I follow and read this:
What in the world…?
When things are crazy and I ask “What in the world….?” I am constantly reminded what Jesus told Pilate as recorded in John 18 verse 36
“36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”
We that are children of God -because we believe through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus The Christ-God’s Only Begotten Son that He is THE “I AM…” we can take satisfaction and safety in Him 🙏🏻🙌❤️👑
“What in the world…?” Simple answer we are NOT of this world either!
We are IN it not OF it!!!
Here is the link to that post: https://bornagain732com.wordpress.com/2020/10/25/what-in-the-world/
How awesome is that? We Christians are IN the world, but not OF it. I needed to be reminded of that today! We are living in CrAzY times. But our God is still on the throne, and none of this is catching Him by surprise.
Thank you for that reminder, Linda. ❤
You are very welcome. I needed that reminder, too! ❤❤❤
I’ve been attempting to remind our church that we have gotten far too comfortable in this world. We seem to have forgotten that as Christians we are just passing through, at least that’s how it appears to me. This world was never intended to be our ultimate destiny, but one would be hard pressed to believe that judging by all the preparations we make to make our lives here as pleasant as possible.
In some Christian circles there is never ending debate and speculation regarding the mark of the beast. While none of know how and when this will come about, scripture is clear that indeed it will become mandatory at some point to accept this mark. Either that or you cannot buy or sell.
When you really think about it, such technology would be a huge benefit to humanity were it used for the right reasons. Imagine being able to instantly know the whereabouts of every terrorist, child molester, or murderer. Or having instant access to your medical history in the event of a medical emergency. As I said, there could be a very beneficial aspect to this advanced technology.
Perhaps the Antichrist will use these same arguments to help deceive the nations to take this mark. One thing is certain however, once the mark is taken the line has been crossed and there is no way back to God.
“9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,
10 “he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 “And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Rev. 14:9-11
You are so right, Ron. The church has become far too worldly. Unfortunately, these attempts at accommodation will not draw hearts to Christ. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matt. 24: 12).
No kind of chip will be put in this body at any time for any reason! All honor, glory, and power to the Lord Jesus Christ.
I’m w/ you, Sue.
I thought you might be interested in this too, Anna. It’s something I came across a few months ago:

Thank you, Linda!
You are welcome! I believe you and I have a similar mindset. We want to be well informed about the signs of the times, but not fearful. I couldn’t even stand this stuff if I didn’t have my faith in the Lord!
You are absolutely right, Linda.
My brother, an oncologist told me his hospital made this an option but in medical badges. He declined.
Wise choice.
Hi Anna, there are no doubt pros and cons concerning the implantation of microchips as an issue in itself, but I am not inclined to view this as “the mark of the beast.” There have always been some in every generation of Christians down through the ages who, in their day, have been sure they knew what the mark of the beast was all about, usually relating it to some evil or perceived evil in their day. No doubt we need greater revelation on this, greater wisdom, and we must trust our Lord to grant it.
And He will. But let’s not neglect to receive His further counsel in this matter. I find it helpful to remove the chapter division between Revelation Ch. 13 and Ch. 14. Those divisions were not there in the original manuscripts, so instead of being preoccupied with the last few verse in Ch. 13 about the beast and his mark in the hand or forehead, and then closing our Bible, let’s continue reading. For, John at the end of Ch. 13 is not finished what the Spirit is inspiring him to say. He continues, “And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on the mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty and four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads.”
What is this about? Surely this has nothing to do with the name of Father and Son literally inscribed externally on the forehead, or the number 777 or something like that, instead of 666. My conviction is that this is about the mind of Christ, and the “seal of the living God” proclaiming these to be His personal property. (See also Rev. 7:2). If we are preoccupied with this, and have this in our foreheads, it will be all the protection we need against the mark of the beast, leaving no room whatever for that.
Perhaps I need to briefly add this. Let no one exclude themselves from the 144,000 the way the Jehovah’s Witnesses exclude most of their members, claiming that those in this company are the elite who will rule from Heaven while most others will be in the earth. That in itself is complete deception. No, the numbers in The Revelation are symbolic; 144,000 is not a literal number. It is 12 X 12 X 1000, twelve being the number of divine government and 1,000 being the number of the everlasting kingdom. Notice how in Chapter 7:9 the 144,000 are revealed as “a great multitude which no man could number.” There’s room then for you and I in this “number” if we meet the qualifications set forth in Rev. 14:1-5. (The virgins of 14:4, by the way, this also is a spiritual thing, not a physical thing. Otherwise John the Revelator himself, who was married, could not be part of it.)
Thank you for this scholarly clarification, Allan. I agree w/ you that these chips are not the mark of the beast. Nonetheless, I find it chilling: a) that such technology exists, and b) that so many are willing to use it.
For what it’s worth, my position also. Thanks Allan.
That’s good to hear, Erroll, we are vastly outnumbered. 🙂
It is entirely possible that you have a more profound understanding of Scripture on this point than the majority, Allan. Your reasoning certainly seems sound.
Thank you, Anna, good to know you don’t mind being in the company of heretics. 😉
:))))
Yes, it is chilling that this could be used for evil. All the more reason that we need the names of the Father and the Son implanted into us by the Spirit.
I read about a form of vaccine that leaves a kind of ink in the body, a record of the vaccine, in case we lose our documentation. It’s like a tattoo and can be read by a cell phone. It sounded like science fiction to me, but I fact checked the M.I.T. website, and they not only admitted it, they were BRAGGING that they were developing this new technology. It’s not hard to imagine that to shop somewhere we’ll not only have to wear masks, but someday will have to prove that we’ve been vaccinated.
In this climate, it would not surprise me.
They are a bad idea all the way around. I think humans are going to end and Christ will return when humans fully and finally go off the rails with technology.
Great post, Anna. I think the pandemic has fast-tracked the last need for the implant. Health records, health insurance, and financial information will all be in this chip. Digital currency is coming soon. For Big Brother, the chip is a dream. We have one of those thermometers you point at the forehead. It’s easy to imagine a device like this that you point at the forehead and it takes your temperature and scans a chip. It’s coming soon, my friend.
I fear you are right, Bill. I hope and pray this means the Lord will be returning soon, as well.
That’s the only bright spot, for sure – but what a BRIGHT spot! 🙂
I don’t like the sound of that although I write about it but it’s fictional not reality.
We seem to have accepted monitoring as the price of living in an electronic age. It is difficult now to put the genie back into the bottle.
Yes, it is but we don’t have to accept implants. That’s beyond normal monitoring.
The best exposition I have ever read of The Revelation is now available online for free:
https://thepatmosproject.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/The-Gold-Mine.pdf.
It is by Dr. James Christie and takes the view of a “hearer” having the book read to him by a “reader,” asking, What does the book say for itself?” as opposed to approaching it with pre-determined theology of pre-, mid- or post-tribulation views.
The keys are it is the Revelation of Jesus, not the antichrist; God is in control and satan is no match, not even close. Thanx for a thought-provoking blog! 🙂
Thank you for sharing this information, and for reading. God bless. 🙂
